Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are mixed, with the DJIA outperforming with a gain of 0.3%, while the S&P 500 (-0.1%) hovers near its opening level, and the Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%) loses some ground following yesterday's new record high.

Only the communication services (-1.2%) and technology (-0.6%) sectors trade in the red, though the losses are substantial enough in the mega-cap components to keep the S&P 500 flat. 

Currently, the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF trails the market with a loss of 0.5%. Some notable mega-cap laggards include Netflix (NFLX 1257.09, -31.19, -2.4%), Alphabet (GOOG 176.33, -1.33, -0.8%), and Microsoft (MSFT 499.17, -4.34, -0.9%)
