S&P 500 resists limited pressure
Dow +439.34 at 44534.11, Nasdaq -159.03 at 20210.72, S&P -9.88 at 6195.07

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.2%) continues holding a modest loss, resisting pressure from communication services (-1.7%) and the technology sector (-1.1%), which has weighed down the Nasdaq (-0.8%).

The Senate passed the large reconciliation bill not long ago, concluding its lengthy debate. The bill will now make its way to the House of Representatives for a vote that is expected to take place tomorrow.

Only three sectors continue trading in the red while eight groups hold gains with health care (+1.9%), energy (+0.9%), and real estate (+0.9%) showing relative strength.

Treasuries trade on their lows after a steady retreat from opening highs with the 10-yr yield now up four basis points at 4.27%.
