[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.2%) and Nasdaq (+0.2%) remain a bit below their opening highs after setting fresh intraday records while the Dow (+0.3%) outperforms today, but it is still about 2.5% away from setting a fresh record high of its own.
The Dow has underperformed the broader market in Q2, having gained 4.8% since the end of March versus a 10.3% quarter-to-date advance in the S&P 500. The Dow's underperformance has been largely owed to a plunge in the shares of UnitedHealth (UNH 310.19, +1.08, +0.35%), which has seen its price drop by 50% between mid-April and mid-May.
Today, five Dow members are setting fresh 52-week highs with three of those five—Goldman Sachs (GS 705.65, +14.84, +2.15%), Microsoft (MSFT 498.18, +2.24, +0.45%), and JPMorgan Chase (JPM 291.54, +4.42, +1.54%) also reaching fresh record highs.
