[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.2%) and Nasdaq (+0.1%) hover near their flat lines after resisting some early pressure. Meanwhile, the price-weighted Dow (-0.6%) remains in the red, continuing today's show of relative weakness.
Roughly 2/3 of the Dow's components trade in the red, including highest priced listings like Goldman Sachs (GS 595.81, -4.64, -0.8%), Home Depot (HD 364.20, -4.09, -1.1%), Visa (V 362.17, -3.02, -0.8%), and Caterpillar (CAT 340.04, -7.99, -2.3%). Accordingly, their respective sectors also trade behind the broader market with industrials (-1.0%) and the consumer discretionary sector (-0.7%) at the bottom of today's leaderboard while the financials sector (-0.7%) is slightly ahead of the two groups, but well behind the broader market.
