Ten sectors continue holding gains while energy (-0.5%) is narrowing its June advance to 8.3%. Today's weakness comes alongside selling in crude oil, which is down $1.08, or 1.5%, at $72.19/bbl. All but three components of the sector trade in the red with Halliburton (HAL 22.39, -0.62, -2.7%) leading the group lower.
Natural gas names outperform thanks to a $0.12, or 3.1%, gain in natural gas futures, which have climbed to $3.97/MMBtu. EQT Corp (EQT 59.14, +0.27, +0.4%) is the top performer in the sector, climbing toward its record from 2014 (60.69).
