[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market moves mostly sideways at the index level. Like yesterday, some early selling pressure has dissipated, but there hasn't been a rush to buy on weakness.
Shortly after the open, decliners led advancers by a 2-to-1 margin at the NYSE and by a 3-to-1 margin at the Nasdaq. Now, advancers are even with decliners at the NYSE while decliners maintain a 3-to-2 lead over advancers at the Nasdaq.
More S&P 500 sectors trade up now compared to earlier in the session. The utilities sector leads the pack, up 1.6% from yesterday.
