[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%) has given back its early gain, feeling the weight of losses in eight sectors, led by utilities (-2.2%) and energy (-1.2%).
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq (+0.5%) remains in the green thanks to a solid showing from technology stocks. Chipmakers, however, are not taking part in the early advance, as the PHLX Semiconductor Index slips 0.2%, widening this week's loss to 2.6% versus a 2.0% week-to-date loss in the broader tech sector.
Treasuries trade near their rebound highs with the 30-yr yield still up two basis points at 5.11% while the 10-yr yield is down a basis point at 4.59%.
