[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages remain mixed with the S&P 500 (-0.2%) still down about ten points after recovering some of its initial loss.
Sector standing has not changed much, as four sectors continue showing losses of about 1.0%. That includes the energy sector (-1.0%), which is seeing a continuation of its poor start to the week. Including today's loss, the sector is already down 3.5% since Friday while the S&P 500 has given up 0.4% this week.
Today's weakness in the energy sector comes as crude oil reverses after a brief rise past its 50-day moving average (63.83) to a level not seen in nearly a month. The reversal accelerated after a bearish inventory report from the EIA, and it comes despite a CNN report that Israel may carry out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
