[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market started the day in negative territory, though the initial 30 minutes of trade have seen a steady rise off opening lows. The S&P 500 is still down 0.5% while the Nasdaq (-0.8%) underperforms.
All eleven sectors are among the early decliners, but only two groups are down more than 1.0%. The energy sector (-1.9%) is the worst performer in the early going while consumer discretionary (-1.0%) and technology (-0.9%) also lag. Meanwhile, health care (-0.1%) and financials (-0.1%) trade ahead of the remaining nine sectors.
April Leading Indicators decreased by 1.0% (Briefing.com consensus -0.7%) after falling 0.7% in March.
