[BRIEFING.COM] Recent action saw the Dow (+0.2%) inch into positive territory while the S&P 500 (-0.2%) is about ten points away from following suit.
The Dow has turned positive even though more than half of its components remain in the red. However, some of its top-priced components outperform with Microsoft (MSFT 457.36, +3.09, +0.7%) holding a solid gain, Visa (V 368.28, +3.16, +0.9%), IBM (IBM 268.05, +1.29, +0.5%), and Travelers (TRV 274.00, +0.37, +0.1%) rising to a fresh record, and UnitedHealth (UNH 312.14, +20.23, +7.0%) accelerating its rebound off levels not seen in over four years.
Small caps are having a more difficult time with the Russell 2000 (-0.8%) still down nearly 1.0%.
