Dow dips as staples drag; Caterpillar outperforms with 3% gain

[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.33%) remains in the red, but posted a modest bounce over the last half hour.
A look inside the DJIA shows that Johnson & Johnson (JNJ 148.96, -5.18, -3.36%), Procter & Gamble (PG 158.29, -2.61, -1.62%), and Walmart (WMT 95.58, -1.17, -1.21%) are underperforming.
Meanwhile, Caterpillar (CAT 354.52, +11.97, +3.49%) is one of today's better performers.
The DJIA is now +0.6% higher quarter-to-date.
