[BRIEFING.COM] The market remains near opening highs after moving slightly lower over the last half hour.
Gains in mega caps and chipmakers have an outsized impact on index performance. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) trades 3.5% higher than Friday's close and the PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) is 6.2% higher than its prior close.
The risk-on sentiment in today's session also has gold prices dropping. Gold futures are 3.1% lower at $3,242.50/ozt.
