Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices trade just off session lows, maintaining big losses. 

There has been a strong negative bias through the entire session. Declining issues lead advancing issues by a better than 6-to-1 margin at the NYSE and by a better than 5-to-1 margin at the Nasdaq. 

The equal-weighted S&P 500 shows a 3.8% decline versus a 3.7% decline in the market-cap weighted index. Nine of the 11 S&P 500 sectors are lower with three of them showing losses greater than 5.3%. Four more sectors are lower by more than 3.0%.
