Stock Market Update

Housing starts totaled 1.324 million in March (Briefing.com consensus 1.418 million) and building permits totaled 1.482 million in March (Briefing.com consensus 1.455 million). 

Weekly initial jobless claims totaled 215,000 (Briefing.com consensus 225,000) and continuing claims totaled 1.885 million.

The Philadelphia Fed Index fell to -26.4 in April (Briefing.com consensus 10.0) from 12.5 in March. 

The S&P 500 futures are up 24 points and are trading 0.4% above fair value, the Nasdaq 100 futures are up 143 points and are trading 0.7% above fair value, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are down 573 points and are trading 1.5% below fair value.
