Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices trade near session lows. The market-cap weighted S&P 500 is 1.4% lower and the equal-weighted S&P 500 trades down 0.6%. 

Only two S&P 500 sectors are higher -- energy (+1.9%) and materials (+0.1%) -- while the technology sector brings up the rear (-3.0%). It's the worst performing sector by a wide margin, followed by communication services (-1.6%) and consumer discretionary (-1.4%).

Elsewhere, the 10-yr Treasury yields sits at 4.34%, which is two basis points higher than yesterday.
