Stocks move up from lows after more tariff headlines
Dow -231.56 at 42774.72, Nasdaq -164.58 at 18388.15, S&P -48.56 at 5793.96

[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices moved off their lows in recent trading, but still trade lower than yesterday. The S&P 500 (-0.8%) was above to stay above its 200-day moving average (5,731) at today's low, which acted as an upside catalyst yesterday.

The relative improvement coincided with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick saying on CNBC that "all USMCA compliant goods" will likely get an exemption from tariffs for one month, adding that President Trump will decide this afternoon.

Treasury yields moved up as stocks improved. The 10-yr yield was at 4.28% a short time ago, but sits at 4.33% now.
