The index is still roughly 6% lower than its all-time high (6,147) and 1.7% lower in 2025. Outsized losses in mega caps have been influential in this weakness thus far. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) is 4.5% in 2025.
Tesla (TSLA 271.57, -0.48, -0.2%) is a standout from the space, sitting on a 32.7% decline this year.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted S&P 500 is flat so far this year.
