[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices moved lower in recent trading. The S&P 500 shows a 0.3% decline.
Retail stocks lagged last week amid earnings news from the space, which has carried over thus far in the new week. The SPDR S&P Retailer ETF (XRT) trades 0.7% lower, contributing to the underperformance of the discretionary sector (-0.4%).
The discretionary sector is also weighed down by a loss in Amazon.com (AMZN 208.63, -3.66, -1.7%). Tesla (TSLA 299.80, +6.82, +2.3%) has gone against the downside grain, bouncing back after falling below its 200-day moving average.
