The market learned a short time ago that the Congressional Budget Office estimates that if the debt limit remains unchanged, the government’s ability to borrow using established "extraordinary measures" will probably be exhausted in August or September 2025.
Stocks and bonds had a muted response. The 10-yr yield is up four basis points from yesterday at 4.35%.
