Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.2%) has extended its posture above its 200-day moving average (5,754), yet buyers remain somewhat hesitant. 

Market breadth reflects mixed action under the index surface. Advancers have an 11-to-10 lead over decliners at the NYSE while decliners lead advancers by a 4-to-3 margin at the Nasdaq.

Gains in some mega cap names have provided an added boost to index level gains. Microsoft (MSFT 395.48, +2.38, +0.6%), Apple (AAPL 223.69, +2.92, +1.3%), and Amazon.com (AMZN 205.38, +2.12, +1.1%) are influential winners in the space. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 0.6% gain.
