The index remains 1.8% lower than its 200-day moving average after breaking support there last week. Today's move has the index 8.2% lower than its high on February 19.
The Nasdaq Composite (+0.7%) remains in correction territory, down 12.3% from its all-time high, despite some improvement in recent sessions.
Mega cap stocks have underperformed in recent upside action, impacting the Nasdaq. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) is 0.7% lower this week and 7.5% lower in March.
