Mega caps remain below key support level
Dow +254.45 at 41742.33, Nasdaq -35.88 at 17718.21, S&P +16.77 at 5655.71

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.4%) has chopped around in a narrow range today. The Nasdaq Composite (-0.2%) has lagged its peers as mega cap shares decline.

The top-weighted stocks in the market all trade below their respective 200-day moving averages. Names include:

  • Amazon.com (AMZN 195.07, -2.83, -1.4%) broke below that level 10 days ago
  • Alphabet (GOOG 166.83, -0.79, -0.5%) has traded lower than its 200-day moving average since February 25
  • Tesla (TSLA 235.84, -14.14, -5.7%) closed lower than that support level on March 3
  • NVIDIA (NVDA 119.60, -2.07, -1.7%) broke that support on February 26
  • Apple (AAPL 211.07, -2.42, -1.1%) fell below the key technical level on March 10

Microsoft (MSFT 387.69, -0.88, -0.2%) has been in a downtrend longer than its peers, dropping below its 200-day moving average on January 30.

Meanwhile, Meta Platforms (META 599.38, -8.25, -1.4%) remains above that support line, which is at 570.81, or 0.5% lower than where shares trade today.
