Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major equity indices have moved off session lows over the last half hour, but still remain under their prior closing levels. The Nasdaq Composite shows a 0.9% decline, about 170 points lower than yesterday. 

Today's move has the Nasdaq Composite below last Friday's close by about 0.1%. The S&P 500 is still positive on the week, up 0.2% from Friday. Small and mid cap indices also turned negative for the week after outperforming so far this year.

The Russell 2000 (-0.9%) is 0.04% lower than last Friday and the S&P Mid Cap 400 (-0.9%) is 0.6% lower than last week. The small cap index is still 2.6% higher in 2025 and the mid cap index shows a 3.1% gain in 2025.
