Outsized declines in some of the weightiest components in the equity market have an outsized impact on index performance. Apple (AAPL 228.11, -7.93, -3.4%), Tesla (TSLA 388.25, -16.37, -4.0%), NVIDIA (NVDA 117.94, -2.14, -1.8%), and Microsoft (MSFT 413.05, -1.98, -0.5%) are standouts in that respect.
The equal-weighted S&P 500 sports a 0.5% decline after trading down as much as 2.0%.
