[BRIEFING.COM] The market has maintained its positive bias, as sellers haven't made any concerted effort to disrupt today's trend.
There are losers today, like Centene Corp. (CNC 57.56, -3.77, -6.2%) and Molina Healthcare (MOH 285.60, -20.37, -6.7%), but the weight of the winners, like Super Micro Computer (SMCI 54.59, +9.05, +20.0%) and Axon Enterprise (AXON 585.48, +88.83, +17.9%) -- and NVIDIA (NVDA 132.50, +5.87, +4.6%) -- has outweighed those losses.
Accordingly, today's index performance has a solid feel to it, especially since there is broad-based buying interest. Mega-cap stocks are making the biggest difference, yet the influence of many other stocks is evident in the 0.6% gain for the equal-weighted S&P 500 and the 1.3% gain for the Russell 2000.
On a related note, the Russell 2000 is looking good today, but it has looked pretty bad since its peak on November 25. Including today's gain, the Russell 2000 is down 10.9% since its November 25 peak.
