Some stocks that report earnings after the close are sharply higher today. Occidental Petro (OXY 48.80, +0.74, +1.5%), Devon Energy (35.15, +0.51, +1.5%), Arista Networks (ANET 110.18, +3.34, +3.1%), and Cadence Designs (CDNS 300.37, +5.18, +1.8%) are standouts in that respect.
Meanwhile, Toll Brothers (TOL 121.12, -2.51, -2.0%) underperforms alongside other homebuilders ahead of its earnings report after the close. The SPDR S&P Homebuilder ETF (XHB) is down 1.6%.
On a related note, the NAHB Housing Market Index dropped to 42 in February (Briefing.com consensus 47) from 47.
