Stocks open mixed
Dow -130.60 at 44415.48, Nasdaq +7.83 at 20034.60, S&P +1.19 at 6115.82

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened to mixed action at the index level, influenced by mixed action in mega cap stocks. The S&P 500 has traded above and below its prior close, still flirting with its record high.

There's not a lot of conviction from buyers or sellers due to a lack of market-moving news. Market breadth reflects a positive skew, but margins are narrow. Advancers lead decliners by a roughly 4-to-3 margin at both the NYSE and at the Nasdaq.

Four of the 11 S&P 500 sectors are lower. The communication services (-1.0%), consumer discretionary (-0.5%), and consumer staples (-0.4%) sectors are the worst performers so far. The energy (+0.8%), industrial (+0.5%), and technology (+0.4%) sectors lead the pack.
