[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 remains just below its all-time high (6,128), where it was rejected on its opening advance.
Seven S&P 500 sectors are higher, but moves are limited. The energy sector is the top performer, up 0.8%, despite a move lower in oil prices ($71.02/bbl, -0.27, -0.4%).
The utilities (+0.5%), technology (+0.4%), financial (+0.4%), and real estate (+0.4%) sectors are also top performers.
On the flip side, the consumer staples sector has shown relative weakness, trading 0.7% lower at the bottom of the pack.
