[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened to gains. The S&P 500 is 0.3% higher and the Nasdaq Composite sports a 0.5% gain. The upside bias follows this morning's data, which sent Treasury yields lower.
The 10-yr yield, at 4.60% before of 8:30 ET, sits at 4.55% now. The move followed a better-than-feared January PPI report and weekly jobless claims that remain relatively low.
Just about everything is coming along for the upside ride in equities. Ten of the 11 S&P 500 sectors are higher led by materials (+0.8%), consumer discretionary (+0.7%), and technology (+0.4%).
The lone sector in negative territory is the health care sector, which sports a 0.1% decline.
