[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite dropped about 50 points in recent action, but there hasn't been much change under the surface.
25 of the 30 Dow components show losses and all 11 S&P 500 sectors are lower. The defensive-oriented consumer staples (-0.1%) and health care (-0.3%) sectors show the slimmest declines while real estate (-1.3%) and energy (-1.1%) bring up the rear.
Treasury yields remain near intraday highs. The 10-yr yield is up 11 basis points from yesterday at 4.65% and the 2-yr yield is up eight basis points from yesterday at 4.37%. On a related note, results for today's $42 billion 10-year Treasury note auction are at 1:00 p.m. ET.
