Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages sit near session highs, with the S&P 500 (-0.2%) and Nasdaq Composite (-0.2%) nearing their unchanged levels, while the DJIA (-0.4%) holds a slightly wider loss. 

The information technology sector now sits on its flatline after holding a 1.3% loss early in the session. 

NVIDIA (NVDA 179.67, +2.67, +1.51%) continues to provide solid leadership amid a sluggish morning for mega-cap names, with Apple (AAPL 278.88, +0.03, +0.01%) also returning to its flatline. 

Elsewhere in the mega-cap space, Amazon (AMZN 234.27, +1.05, +0.45%) holds a modest gain, which underpins a 0.3% advance in the consumer discretionary sector. 

The other four "magnificent seven" names hold losses, though they too are stirred from session lows, with the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF narrowing its loss to 0.2% as a result.
