Apple shows reslience despite tech, mega-cap weakness
Dow -231.40 at 47105.07, Nasdaq -369.29 at 23465.46, S&P -63.74 at 6788.22

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.9%) and Nasdaq Composite (-1.5%) are on a course toward session lows, while the DJIA (-0.5%) sits with a more modest gain.

Bloomberg reports that Apple (AAPL 270.12, +1.07, +0.40%) is developing a sub-$1,000 MacBook that will be the first Mac to use an iPhone chip, in hopes of competing with the Chromebook and other lower-cost options.

While Apple's gain today is modest, it is impressive considering the stock is the only "magnificent seven" name to trade above its baseline and one of just five names in the information technology sector (-1.7%) that trade higher.
