[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.2%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.3%), and DJIA (+0.3%) trade modestly higher as the market once again opened to broad-based strength this morning.
Ten S&P 500 sectors hold gains, with a $0.57 (+1.0%) per gallon increase in the price of oil to $59.22, giving the energy sector (+1.2%) the early lead.
Only the health care sector (-0.8%), which has outperformed the broader market with a nearly double-digit gain this month, faces some profit-taking in the early going.
Headlines are quiet this morning, with no economic data releases or earnings reports scheduled for today.
