[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.3%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.3%), and DJIA (+0.3%) hold similar gains shortly after the open as the stock market opened to another morning of broad-based strength.
What stands out compared to recent sessions is that the information technology sector (+0.7%) is back out front this morning after several consecutive shaky outings. NVIDIA (NVDA 179.47, +1.65, +0.93%) holds an early gain, as do most of the sector's components, and the PHLX Semiconductor Index is up 1.6%.
It is worth noting that the sector has already given back a chunk of its early gain and has been prone to ceding early strength in recent sessions.
Meanwhile, the communication services (-0.2%) and health care (-0.1%) sectors are the only two sectors that trade in negative territory despite recent outperformance.
The November Chicago PMI retracted to 36.3 (Briefing.com consensus 44.5) from a prior reading of 43.8.
