[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.1%), and DJIA (-0.2%) remain near their flatlines following a decrease in sector strength since the open.

Elsewhere, the consumer discretionary sector (-0.7%) also weighs on the major averages. Tesla (TSLA 447.64, -5.61, -1.24%) trades lower today ahead of an expected product unveiling, the announcement of which sent the stock higher yesterday.
