[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages continue to chart session lows, with today's loss leaving the major averages with losses of 1.0% or wider for the week.
The Wall Street Journal had a report out before the open that said the president is considering responses to China's recent rare earth mineral restrictions, though much of this morning's focus centered around capitalizing on yesterday's retreat, which is now modest in comparison to today's move.
The CBOE Volatility Index has increased 4.14 to 20.57, an increase of 25.2%.
