Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] There hasn't been much up or down movement at the index level in recent trading. 

NVIDIA (NVDA 150.99, +6.48, +4.5%) still leads the mega cap stocks, but other names are showing outsized gains with no specific catalyst. Apple (AAPL 246.39, +3.03, +1.2%), Microsoft (MSFT 431.68, +8.33, +2.0%), Amazon.com (AMZN 228.23, +4.04, +1.8%), and Meta Platforms (META 620.25, +15.62, +2.6%) are standouts in that respect.

Gains in the aforementioned names have propelled their respective S&P 500 sectors toward the top of the leaderboard today. The information technology sector shows a 2.1% gain, the communication services sector sports a 2.0% gain, and the consumer discretionary sector trades 1.0% higher.
