[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market sank in response to reports about tariffs. The S&P 500 trades 0.1% higher and the Dow Jones Industrial Average shows a 0.5% decline.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said an earlier Reuters report stating tariffs would begin March 1st is "false," adding a February 1st start date for tariffs still stands. President Trump will impose 25% tariff on Canada/Mexico beginning tomorrow and will increase tariffs on China by 10%.
Elsewhere, Treasuries are moving lower. The 10-yr yield moved from 4.51% to 4.53%.
