AAPL, AMZN turn lower, dragging down Nasdaq
Dow +100.06 at 44814.64, Nasdaq -3.32 at 19710.91, S&P +14.85 at 6054.16

[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite moved into negative territory as some mega caps turned lower with no specific catalyst.

Apple (AAPL 238.64, -0.71, -0.3%), which is the next mega cap tech stock to report earnings, and Amazon.com (AMZN 235.75, -1.32, -0.6%) are among the influential laggards.

The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 0.3% decline after trading up as much as 0.6%. 

Also, the information technology sector extended its opening decline, trading 1.3% lower. 

The overall vibe hasn't shifted, though, and many stocks have maintained opening gains. Three S&P 500 sectors trade higher led by communication services (+1.7%), real estate (+1.6%), and utilities (+1.4%).
