[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 is climbing off its session low, trading about 20 points higher or 0.4% higher than yesterday. The equal-weighted S&P 500 sports a 1.0% gain.
Shares of American Airlines (AAL 17.01, -0.31, -1.8%) are under some pressure today after a tragic mid-air collision between a regional jet and Blackhawk helicopter in Washington D.C. that had no survivors.
Other airline stocks have not been impacted by the news. The US Global JETS ETF (JETS) shows a 0.8% gain.
