Apple (AAPL 242.98, -0.91, -0.4%) is extending recent declines following iPhone discounts and sliding demand in China. Meta Platforms (META 597.96, -1.27, -0.2%) is another loser in the mega cap space with no specific catalyst.
Gains in other mega caps have acted as support thus far. NVIDIA (NVDA 143.15, +4.83, +3.5%), Microsoft (MSFT 421.21, +2.63, +0.6%), and Amazon.com (AMZN 222.69, +2.47, +1.1%), which make up 17% of the S&P 500 in terms of market cap, show decent gains.
