Chipmakers lag after yesterday's scare
Dow +97.56 at 44811.20, Nasdaq +260.32 at 19684.06, S&P +33.83 at 5964.17

[BRIEFING.COM] Things are little changed at the index level in recent trading. The S&P 500 trades about 30 points higher and the Dow Jones Industrial Average trades about 100 points higher. 

Semiconductor stocks still trade in defensive-mode after yesterday's AI scare. The PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) shows a 0.2% decline.

NVIDIA (NVDA 123.84, +5.37, +4.4%) and Broadcom (AVGO 202.77, +0.13, +0.1%) have gone against the grain, rebounding after huge losses. This price action, along with gains in Apple (AAPL 239.79, +9.92, +4.3%) and Microsoft (MSFT 442.64, +8.04, +1.9%), have boosted the S&P 500 information technology sector (+2.5%). It's the best performing sector by a wide margin followed by communication services (+1.3%).
