[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (+0.2%) moved further into positive territory in recent trading, and there hasn't been much up or down movement in the S&P 500 (-1.8%) and Nasdaq Composite (-3.3%).
The outsized impact of declines in mega caps and chipmakers is visible in the difference between the market-cap weighted S&P 500, which trades nearly 2.0% lower, and the equal-weighted S&P 500, which trades 0.2% lower.
Also, the consumer staples (+2.0%) and health care (+2.0%) sectors are each trading 2.0% higher while the health care (+0.5%) and real estate (+0.4%) sectors show less robust gains.
A look inside the consumer staples sector shows every component trading up except Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA 11.13, -0.74, -6.3%), which is trades lower after CNBC's David Faber said that hopes for a private equity bid from Sycamore are essentially gone.
