[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices have maintained a positive posture after pulling back from session highs. The S&P 500 is about 22 points than Tuesday, or 0.3%.
Some areas of the market that logged outsized gains in 2024 have outperformed so far today. Semiconductor shares are standouts in that respect, leading the PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) to trade 1.5% higher. The SOX logged a 15.6% gain in 2024.
NVIDIA (NVDA 137.47, +3.31, +2.5%) and Broadcom (AVGO 235.31, +3.50, +1.5%) are winners from the space.
