[BRIEFING.COM] The market is putting together its best week since the election. By and large, it has been a cyclically-charged rally, evidenced by this week's sector leaders: materials (+6.6%), energy (+6.4%), financials (+6.2%), real estate (+5.3%), and industrials (+5.2%).

The economic optimism, which is likely wrapped up in the market's expectation for deregulation and market-friendly tax policy under the Trump administration, has also manifested itself in the outperformance of the small-cap stocks and the value stocks.

The Russell 2000 is up 4.1% for the week versus 3.2% for the S&P 500; meanwhile, the Russell 3000 Value Index is up 4.4% for the week versus a 2.4% gain for the Russell 3000 Growth Index.
