[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.75%) is just off lows of the day, narrowly higher compared to levels from the prior half hour.
A look inside the DJIA shows that American Express (AXP 244.44, -7.40, -2.94%), Amazon (AMZN 172.99, -4.90, -2.75%), and Boeing (BA 157.96, -4.19, -2.58%) are among today's top laggards.
Meanwhile, McDonald's (MCD 291.24, +3.27, +1.14%) is holding a decent lead atop the standings.
The DJIA is on pace to end the week -2.67% lower.
Elsewhere, at the top of the hour, Baker Hughes (BKR 33.82, -0.29, -0.85%) announced a weekly U.S. rotary rig count of 582, -1 w/w and -50 yr/yr.
