[BRIEFING.COM] There has been a downward drift in the morning session as buyers have lost some of their eagerness. It is understandable given the run the market has had, not just since its September lows, but its August lows.
Since the lows on August 5, the Nasdaq Composite is up 15.1%, the S&P 500 is up 11.9%; the Russell 2000 is up 11.1%; the S&P Midcap 400 is up 10.6%; and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 9.1%. For good measure, NVIDIA (NVDA 123.37, +2.50, +2.1%) is up 36.0%!
Some consolidation activity is to be expected. Thus far, it is a very orderly (and modest) move as quarter end approaches.
