[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid below its prior closing level while the S&P 500 trades 0.1% higher.
WTI crude oil futures turned sharply lower, trading down 1.9% from Friday at $69.66/bbl. Natural gas futures are higher by 4.3% to $2.84/mmbtu.
The activity in oil prices hasn't impacted the S&P 500 energy sector, which sports a 0.3% gain. Only two S&P 500 sectors trade lower -- health care (-0.3%) and information technology (-0.2%) -- while the consumer discretionary sector leads the pack, up 0.9%.
