Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened to lackluster action. The three major indices trade near their prior closing levels. Market breadth is positive, but modestly so.

Participants are waiting on the Fed's policy decision at 2:00 ET and Fed Chair Powell's press conference at 2:30 p.m. ET. 

None of the S&P 500 sectors are moving more than 0.3% in either direction. The real estate sector leads the pack while the materials sector brings up the rear. 

Treasury yields are higher in front of the FOMC announcement. The 10-yr yield is four basis points higher at 3.68% and the 2-yr yield is six basis points higher at 3.65%.
