Stocks in a steady decline after S&P 500 reaches fresh high

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 has been slowly declining after reaching a fresh all-time high at 5,670. The three major indices trade near session lows.
Downside moves also coincided with NVIDIA (NVDA 116.41, -0.36, -0.3%) and Meta Platforms (META 532.50, -0.81, -0.2%) turning lower, giving up initial gains.
The heavily-weighted information technology sector trades 0.1% lower now after joining the countercyclical consumer staples (-0.8%) and health care (-0.7%) sectors in negative territory.
